Mary Beard es catedrática de Clásicos en Cambridge y fellow de Newnham College. Es editora en The Times Literary Supplement y autora del blog «A Don´s Life». Entre sus libros publicados se incluye The Parthenon y El triunfo romano  (Crítica, 2008).
